Back to routine as September kicks in...

Summer is over and it's back to the grind but with excitement in the air after the unveiling of the first mural as part of project Acton Unframed. Shisoka by Fin Dac now sits proudly in place at the Mrtyle Rd corner of Churchfield Rd W3 and has been enthusiastically received by the local community.

As Sept kicks in we are seeing lots of commercial activity and CHANGE happening on the street. Fed & Watered is due to open soon. The Station House has a new first floor terrace. Michael and Andrew at The Rocket have big plans to resurrect the pub dining room, and are also shortly opening burgers and cocktails joint, Burgers Inc UK. A new noodle bar is apparently on its way next door to The Mill and we hear Athan at Bake Me is opening a second site on the street too! There’s more news that I can’t yet reveal but stay tuned on the Churchfield Rd W3 FB, Instagram and Twitter pages.

The Cook Book Festival...

Two members of W3Women, Jo Pratt and Silla Bjerrum, are on the committee and hosting workshops at The Cook Book Festival.

Jo Pratt is hosting a Flexible Pescatarian cookery demo on Sunday 15th September, 15.00-15.45 and Silla is co-hosting a Danish lunch with her sister, Trine Hahnemann on Friday 13th September, 12.30pm. In addition, Silla is hosting a Sushi making workshop (now sold out) on Sunday 15th 13.45-14.30.  All events are based around Turnham Green Terrace area where a street party will take place on Sunday 15th Sept.

Jo Pratt is offering 50% off her workshop if booked today and tomorrow (ends midnight Tuesday 10th), subject to availability. Book HERE and use promo code COOK2019.

What's next...

A W3Women's get together is long over due. Many of you have expressed an interest in launching new local initiatives including a living wall, cleaner streets and repair-recycle initiatives. It would be great to get a date in the diary so we can make the most of the momentum that has been created as a result of Acton Unframed.

September is already getting pretty hectic so I've created a poll over on the W3WOMEN facebook group. Please use it to indicate what date would be preferred and I will attempt to get something organised soon.
