The space hive crowdfunding for Acton Unframed has now come to an end. We have raised a total of £54,279 from 190 backers. Spacehive will begin to collect pledges in the next week.
For anyone who couldn’t make a pledge (and we know some had issues with PayPal) you can still make a payment directly to the fund which is being managed independently by @jamesgoodby @WestLondonArtFactory. Contact details at ActonUnframed.com
We have already had an additional commitment for £1000 from L&Q and due to the level of interest from others we will keep the fund open. Additional funds will be used to deliver a local artist collaboration and/or a celebratory community event on completion of the project.
It’s safe to say together we have kickstarted a hugely positive and potentially influential movement.
Change creates hope and hope creates optimism.
As Sept kicks in we are seeing lots of commercial activity and change happening on the street. The Churchfield Cafe has new owners; Fed&Watered are due to open anytime soon, The Station House has a new terrace - already busy but official launches later this month, the boys at Tailor Made UK have big plans to resurrect the dining room at The Rocket and are shortly opening burgers and cocktails joint Burgers Inc UK , a new noodle bar is apparently on its way next door to The Mill, we hear Athan @MrBakeMe is opening a second site on the street and there’s much more news that I can’t yet reveal but watch this space!
