We recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for a new project “Acton Unframed” to bring some of the world’s best street artists to Acton W3.
There are so MANY reasons why street art is important for urban areas like Acton but one really important reason is that it can help energise and inspire young talent. We aim to bring world renowned artists, local creatives and business owners together to create artwork which will help revive the area and bring the community together.
To set the tone, develop a creative direction and to ensure the artwork is of the highest standard we will be working with some of the world’s most celebrated artists. FinDAC and Matt Small are already signed up and more artists due to be confirmed in the next few weeks. Our aim with the project is to attract global attention so that collaborations will allow local talent to be show cased next to international stars.
On Mon 17th June we will be assessed by GLA for a pledge from the Mayor of London.
We started this project on the premise that there was lots of local support for it and that there is a desire within the Acton W3 Community for change in their neighbourhood.
Though we hope the majority of the funding will come from a pledge from the Mayor of London (who can match up to 75% of what we raise) and Ealing Council’s Transform your Space Fund (Up to £10k), to be successfully matched to this funding we need to show strong community support for it.
We need 100+ pledges to be considered.
Every pledge, share and comment helps to show support.
We need as many people talking about it as possible.
We need to hear how much and why you want this.
To show your commitment please do any of the following:
Make a pledge of any amount
Leave a comment on the Space Hive- Acton Unframed page
Share the page through your social media channels; Instagram, FB Twitter and LinkedIn.
Please don't watch from the sidelines!
